The Boy's Room

I saw this blog on pinterest that includes pictures of a cute room with prices and where she got her good deals. Her whole bedroom was $2300. I figured if people are pinning this then it must be considered appropriate, so I thought I would use this as an excuse to show off The Boy's vintage farm themed room. We chose this theme after The Husband vetoed my original vintage western theme idea. He later learned amidst a sea of tears and snot at Michael's Craft Store that there's only a certain amount of Husband Input a pregnant woman can take. He also learned that the appropriate response to a public display of tears and snot is not "you've got a booger" as he previously thought. Learn from his mistake: appropriate responses include "yes dear", "you're the boss", "those frames look great" and "I think you're due for a massage".

It's not fancy and I'm not a professional photographer but there are some good deals here. These are from memory but I'm pretty sure about the prices.
 1. My friend Kati gave The Boy this frame made from 100 year old barn wood. She put the letters of his name inside with different farm scenes. $0
2. Pottery Barn Kids bumper pads and dust ruffle- I found at a consignment sale $6
3. This pie safe was in my grandmother's house when she was little. We just paid for paint $20.
4. 3-in-1 convertible crib from Amazon $189. The farm animal mobile was a gift.
Total for this portion = $215

5. This chair was not a good deal. It was on sale but it was still pricey.  OkaydontjudgemeIthinkitwasaroundfivehundredbucks. Worth every penny, and we used some gift money to go toward it.
6. My grandfather's christening gown (priceless)- custom framed at Michael's for $200
7. Lamp from Target ($29.99) paid for with a gift card $0
8. We had the shelf in the attic and a friend let us borrow the changing pad. The toys on the shelf were gifts, as was the picture frame and embroidered wipes cover $0
9. The dresser was on clearance at American Signature Furniture because one of the drawers didn't fit in right. It took the Husband about 10 minutes to fix it. $200ish.
Total for this portion (excluding chair) $400

10. Pottery Barn Kids curtains my mom found at a consignment store $15
11. Santa found this Rock n Ride Riding Horse at a consignment sale $8
12. Wicker baskets from TJMaxx, $8.99 (small) and $12.99 (large)
13. The table was from my grandparent's attic. The star lamp was $4 at a consignment sale.
Total for this portion = $58

14. Farm animal prints- I bought an old cloth book on ebay ($8) and framed the pages. Frames were $10 each on sale at Michael's -$48 total
15. Wooden letters with hooks- on sale at Hobby Lobby for $2.50 each. $15 total
16. Door organizer- $6.99 at Lowe's.
Total for this portion = $69.99

Excluding the chair, this room was less than $800 for the furniture, decor, and organizational items. If you include the chair it was still less than $1500. Take that, fancy Pinterest blogger!
